Whale fossils over a million years old! A dolphin rib bone with actual shark teeth marks on it, and whale ear bones? These are some of the rare artifacts that you will see up close on The Adventure Hornblower beginning Dec. 18th when whale watching season begins on Hornblower Cruises & Events.

The Whale Exhibit is the first of its kind on a yacht. Also, you will enjoy some beautiful whale art and poster containing information about migration patterns, and lists of marine animals that you’ll see on our whale watching cruises. It is exhilarating to see California Gray Whales off the coast of San Diego during their annual winter migration. The best way to see whales in their natural habitat is from the comfort of a whale watching boat. From the rails, you not only see the migrating whales, but you will also spot sea lions, dolphins, blue herons and much more. In addition to seeing all manner of marine wildlife you will see the navy aircraft carriers, submarines, Point Loma Lighthouse, the Star of India and all the famous sights along the Big Bay shore.

With a capacity for over 300 guests, the Adventure Hornblower is still the newest, largest, fastest, and most comfortable whale watching yacht in Southern California. On a clear day, guests can spot whale spouts from as far as three miles away from the yacht sundeck that rises 25-feet off the ocean surface. The exciting and educational three and one half hour Whale Watching Adventure also features live narration by experienced Captains. Hornblower Captains exclusively welcome children and guests to the wheelhouse for questions, interaction and photos. For your comfort, indoor and outdoor seating is available as well as a snack bar with hot and cold foods items and souvenirs. We suggest you bring a jacket to enjoy the outdoors.

Hornblower offers a Whale Guarantee! This means if our crew does not spot a whale during your Hornblower Whale Watching Adventure you receive a ticket to return again for FREE another time. Reservations are not necessary; however, you can purchase tickets in advance online or purchase your tickets 30 minutes prior to boarding at the bright RED Hornblower ticket booth located at 1066 North Harbor Drive, downtown San Diego. Cruises depart twice daily at 9:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. Please call ahead of time to assure wheelchair accessibility. A full snack bar is available onboard.
